Happy birthday, Nanna!

Ready to go to the pub!First of all, I would like to sing happy birthday to Nanna!

Happy birthday to you!
Happy birthday to you!
Happy birthday dear Nanna!
Happy birthday to you!

Secondly, I want to let you all in on a secret! Shhhh!

I-went-to-the-pub-today!!! :-O

I’m definitely turning into a Wilks *giggles mischievously*. I wasn’t happy though, because Daddy wouldn’t let me have a pint. Pah! Mean Daddy!

We went to the Cross Oak in Penmaen, as Mummy and Daddy treated Nanna, Grandad and Uncle Olly to a Sunday roast to celebrate Nanna’s birthday! We had a lovely time, and it was nice to get out of the house for a bit!

Night time

I don’t like the night! I haven’t been able to sleep between 12am – 4am but I don’t understand why. I’m sorry Mummy and Daddy. :(

Last night I managed to change that and slept between 1am and 7.30am, only waking up around 4am for a feed and going back to sleep around 5am. I went straight back to sleep because I want Mummy and Daddy to have their sleep too. They were really proud of me last night! I feel sorry for them when I wake them up in the middle of the night – it’s not easy running up and down stairs, sorting my bottle and changing my nappy when they’re still half asleep. They are doing pretty good though!

Here are some pictures Mummy and Daddy took of me about 2.30am one night – even though they were both totally knackered, they still thought I was adorable! Bless ‘em!

Nappy time – urgh!

Mummy and Daddy have noticed I’ve got a mischievous streak! Sometimes when they change my nappy and get me all clean, I decide to have a wee wee before my clean nappy goes on. Teehee!! Aren’t I naughty?!

I don’t do this everytime mind, I’m not that mean! Mummy and Daddy don’t mind really – I’m far too cute for them to get mad at me!

I didn’t like having my nappy changed at first, I used to scream all the way through. I still don’t like it, but I know it’s got to be done; having a dirty bum is not nice! I’ve stopped screaming now and just let them get on with it, looking wide eyed and cute all the way through! *smile*

It’s off to the hospital we go!

Me in a pram suit!Mummy and Daddy took me back to the hospital today to have another blood test to make sure my jaundice isn’t getting out of control.

I wore my new pram suit, a smaller one this time! It’s still a little too big, but I was more comfortable in it!

Mummy and Daddy say that I was a good boy all the way to the hospital, but I got a little restless on the way back, as I was due to have a feed.  The hospital kept Mummy and Daddy waiting that’s why, and they were worried about the delay because they knew I was due a feed soon!  Poor Mummy and Daddy!

Mummy and Daddy were very pleased because my jaundice levels are going down, and it should pass with no treatment at all!  Whee!!  I have to admit that I didn’t really relish the idea of looking like a lemon, literally!

I am very happy, because the baby doctor thinks I am absolutely gorgeous! *beams*

Yummy yum yum!

I’ve been a very good boy and eating very well! Mummy is feeding me on breast milk, but she’s expressing it and feeding me on the bottle so she can see how much I have. It’s very yummy and I’m eating loads! Poor Mummy feels like a cow having to express every few hours to keep up with me! I’m a growing boy, that’s my excuse!! :-P The midwives have been very impressed with how much Mummy is able to express every few hours and how much I’m having – it’s not possible to have too much breast milk, so I’m not being overfed. I’m just making Mummy look good! *grin*

At home

Today was my first full day at home! Mummy and Daddy have been running around after me all day, bless them! They are learning very quickly how to feed, wind, dress, nappy change, sterilise and wash bottles!

Here are some pictures from today!

Going home!

Me all nice and snuggly in my car seat!Wheeee! We’re going home, we’re going home, we’re going home! Mummy, Daddy and little ol’ me left the hospital today at 7.30pm.

Poor Daddy, he had to make two trips to the car because there was so much stuff and he couldn’t carry everything plus me in the car seat! Mummy can’t lift anything at the moment, you see?

Daddy put a pram suit on me, but it was so HUUUUGE that I just drowned in it! So they had to take me out of it and just wrap me up nice and warm with blankets instead!

My gosh! It was pouring down with rain when we walked out of the hospital. Daddy covered up my face with a blanket (making sure I had room to breathe!) so that I wouldn’t get all urghie about the rain drops falling on my face. Daddy was very clever. He brought the car outside the door, so that I wouldn’t have to be exposed to the rain for too long.

Mummy and Daddy managed to belt the car seat in properly quite quickly (between you and me, I was impressed!). Daddy made sure Mummy was okay, and then got in the driver’s seat and then drove us home. My gosh! It was so scary! The world is SOOOOO dark and there was rain, rain, rain everywhere. But, because I’m such a good boy, I managed to sleep all the way home!

We got home about 8.15pm, and Nanna was waiting for us. Daddy carried me into the house (again covering my face up, hehe!), and I was home! Of course, I was asleep the whole time!

Me good boy, me am! And very happy to be home! :-)

Home time!

Yay! The doctors at the hospital are letting me go home with Mummy and Daddy tonight!!! I’m so excited to have a ride in the car in my lovely car seat (which has been on the floor in Mummy’s room at the hospital for a couple of days)!!

My jaundice is still high, but it’s not too bad at the moment, and the baby doctor is happy for me to go home. I’ve got to come back on Tuesday for another blood test though *whimper*, just to make sure it doesn’t get worse.

We are just waiting for the hospital to discharge me and Mummy, and then we’re coming home!! Daddy has gone to Nanny and Grandie’s for dinner in between visiting hours, but he will come back for me and Mummy!

I can’t wait!!!!

Hospital visiting hours

I feel very sorry for Daddy.  He has three weeks off work because I popped out of Mummy’s tummy, but because hospital visiting hours are so strict, I can only see him for a maximum of 4.5 hours a day, 2 of which are shared with other visitors.

I know he wants to spend lots of time with me, and I want to spend time with him too, but what can I do?

I am really looking forward to going home!  Mummy and Daddy say I will hopefully be going home tomorrow! :-)

More visitors today!

I had visits from two new people today, Grandpa and Nana, my great-grandparents!  I feel very lucky to have great grandparents, and it was lovely to meet them!  I think they liked me *giggle*!
